Detailed description of Links At Hiawatha Landing, The

The Links At Hiawatha Landing is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Apalachin, New York.

The Links At Hiawatha Landing first opened for play in 1993. the golf course was designed by Brian Silva and Mike Mungeam.

The Links At Hiawatha Landing is a public, upscale, daily fee course was designed with the links-style in mind. It was built on a gently rolling topography, and features wind swept sand bunkers and native grasses in the rough. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on on seven separate occasions. Plus, beautiful views of the Susquehanna River may be seen from many holes. This course was designed with all skill levels in mind.

The Links at Hiawatha Landing is reminiscent of the legendary circuits of Great Britain — the authentic links-style layout evident in the rolling hills, windswept sand bunkers and ornamental grasses. Over 7,200 yards from the tips, their impeccably manicured course will challenge even the professional golfer. They have five distinct teeing distances, measuring from 5,101 yards from the front tees, to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. Water comes into play on seven holes, yet there are no forced carries — and best of all, there are no blind shots.

Gold tees: par-72, 7,104 yards, 74.4/133

Blue tees: par-72, 6,586 yards, 71.6/131

White tees: par-72, 6,195 yards, 69.7/129

Green tees: par-72, 5,801 yards, 68.0/118

Red tees: par-72, 5,101 yards, 69.8/118

I have played The Links at Hiawatha once a year for the last 6 years (along with 2 other courses in the Binghamton area) and always look forward to playing here.

The look of the course is "links- ee" and plays very fair. Conditions are always top notch and the wind seems to be always present. My favorite holes are the 3rd and 4th holes (Looks), the 11th (challenging, always long and into the wind) and the 18th (try to clear the pit).

We also regularly play two other courses: Conklin and En-joie in the package deal, with the Links being the most beautiful course of the three. Conklin plays tougher most of the time with the conditions as good as the Links. En-Joie always seems to disappoint me being a much smaller course geographically, trying to "shoe-horn" some holes in where they can. Having said that, it's a pleasure to play a course that the Champions Tours comes to every year.

I would definitely recommend this course to any ability and try to play the other courses as well in the same weekend. We usually play 18 Friday, 27 on Saturday, and 27 on Sunday.

Great fun.

Great course. Played it at a great price too. Played in about 4 hours as a twosome and would have been closer if there were no groups ahead of us. Well worth it at even a higher price. Great links golf.

Come here every year for a golf trip with a bunch of guys, can't beat the risk/reward shots on many holes. Best couple of finishing holes anywhere on the east coast. Staff is great!

Maybe because of the heat which was 95+ or because of all the hype it gets, I was not in awe of this course. The layout is tough but fair but the condition of the rough could have been beter. Also there were few holes that standout as WOW factor holes.A fun day but not as memorable as I hoped.

Great course with challenges for most golfers. This is not a course for someone who sprays the ball a lot. The rough is exactly that, rough. If you keep the ball within reasonable distance of the first cut of rough, you can still score. I always make a point to get to this course a few times each year.

Course was very challenging as picturesque. Fairways were excellent. Greens were very fast. Layout is excellent, but stay out of the tall grass!! Enjoyed the course immensely. Paeticipate in an annual outing --wouldn't miss it.
